Here are some tips for safer, environmentally friendly skin care:
- Short table of contents.
- No petroleum raw materials.
- Preferably minerals in natural form.
- Anhydrous provides benefits for both the environment and the skin.
- Support local and small-scale projects.
- Free from toxins and hormone-disrupting substances.
- An eco-certification does not always exclude substances that can irritate the skin.
- Look for what suits you in terms of your skin, sensitivity to fragrances and chemicals.
Many chemical substances have been shown to have disastrous effects on biology, both in and around them
us.
Sadly, it usually takes time before substances are taken off the market. Even today, there are many substances that are known to be harmful in products on the shelves. Investigating how a substance acts in the body and then evaluating its use is not easy. And how should we proceed ethically, should animals be trapped and tortured because we suspect that a substance in a cosmetic product is toxic? Or that we already know is toxic, just not how toxic?
Should the product be used every day? Once a week? Sometime a year? And how do you know that a substance does not react with other substances you already have on or in your body?
- You don't know that. However, it is known that the risk that several substances together can have a different effect than if they are used separately is high. That's how chemistry works: substances react with each other.
SUSTAINABLE SKIN CARE
So, arm yourself with knowledge. Google ingredients, write to manufacturers and distributors and ask questions. Look up topics and read about their supposed/studied effects. Feel free to follow those who are both educated and put energy into diving deep into the chemical jungle.
