Matcha accessories — Chasen whisk, spoon and teapot from Japan
This collection contains all the accessories you need for traditional Japanese matcha preparation. Everything is handmade in Japan by producers specializing in their respective crafts.
Which accessories do we sell?
Bamboo whisk Chasen (handmade whisk that emulsifies matcha with water), Chashaku traditional Japanese bamboo matcha spoon, Kyusu Kuroshinju Japanese teapot with side handle, MOYA Matcha Measuring Spoon stainless steel with walnut handle, Matcha Kit Premium 100 g (complete set), Stainless steel matcha sifter, and Naoshi Chasen holder in ceramic.
Why are the accessories important?
The 80–120 prongs of the Chasen whisk incorporate air and create the characteristic froth matcha should have. A regular whisk or spoon cannot achieve this. The Chashaku spoon is sized so that 2 "scoops" provide approximately the correct amount (1 g). The Kyusu teapot has a side handle for serving tea into multiple cups without burning yourself.
Frequently Asked Questions
How to care for a bamboo whisk?
Rinse in lukewarm water immediately after use. Allow to dry on a whisk holder (Naoshi) that maintains its shape. Never put in a dishwasher.
How long does a Chasen last?
3–12 months with daily use. The prongs will eventually start to break off — then it's time for a new one.
What is Kuroshinju?
A traditional dark glazed clay teapot with a side handle — designed for multiple cups of tea.
