Why special probiotics?
Common Lactobacillus strains produce histamine as a byproduct — which can cause symptoms in people with histamine intolerance. HistaminX contains only strains that do not produce histamine. Smidge Sensitive is formulated without fillers that can trigger MCAS or similar conditions.
Which strains are available?
Bifidobacterium longum, B. infantis, and B. breve dominate HistaminX. Infant formulas often contain B. infantis EVC001, which is specific for breast milk-fed stomachs. S. boulardii is a yeast that does not colonize the gut but temporarily supports the mucous membrane.
Lactic acid or spore-based?
Spore-based (Bacillus in P3-OM) can withstand stomach acid without an acid-resistant capsule. Bifido is gentler for sensitive individuals. S. boulardii works simultaneously with antibiotics.

Do I need prebiotics too?
