This collection focuses on probiotics for those who cannot tolerate standard formulas. We feature Seeking Health ProBiota HistaminX (histamine-free strains), Saccharomyces boulardii (a yeast), Smidge Infant Probiotic for infants, and Smidge Sensitive Probiotic for sensitive nervous systems.

Why special probiotics?

Common Lactobacillus strains produce histamine as a byproduct — which can cause symptoms in people with histamine intolerance. HistaminX contains only strains that do not produce histamine. Smidge Sensitive is formulated without fillers that can trigger MCAS or similar conditions.

Which strains are available?

Bifidobacterium longum, B. infantis, and B. breve dominate HistaminX. Infant formulas often contain B. infantis EVC001, which is specific for breast milk-fed stomachs. S. boulardii is a yeast that does not colonize the gut but temporarily supports the mucous membrane.

Lactic acid or spore-based?

Spore-based (Bacillus in P3-OM) can withstand stomach acid without an acid-resistant capsule. Bifido is gentler for sensitive individuals. S. boulardii works simultaneously with antibiotics.

Can infants take probiotics?

Smidge Infant is formulated for ages 0+. Always discuss with your health visitor or doctor if the child has specific problems.

How does HistaminX differ from regular probiotics?

Histamine-producing strains have been removed. It mainly contains Bifido species that have a neutral or histamine-degrading effect.

Do I need prebiotics too?

Prebiotics are food for bacteria. Many get enough from vegetables; for severe dysbiosis, a separate prebiotic can supplement.
