Detox means detoxification and it takes place every day, every minute in every cell of the body. How do I help the body eliminate harmful substances in the best way?
Poisons come from two directions:
1) residual products from the combustion of food and metabolism of substances in the body
2) toxins that come from outside via the air, through the skin or from food and drink.
All poisons must be sorted, repackaged and eliminated regardless of where they come from. It happens in the body's detoxification system.
AVOID TOXINS FROM THE ENVIRONMENT
In the kitchen, choose
- non-toxic grown food, locally if possible
- grass-fed organic meat and organs
- fish from clean seas
- cook from scratch, avoid semi-finished and ready-made meals.
- Can you grow something yourself? Pick game and dry/preserve?
For cleaning, washing and skin care, choose products
- without synthetic perfume, coloring and preservatives
- with labels for allergy sufferers and/or environmentally friendly certified.
DETOX SYSTEM
In the body, substances are filtered out through various detox pathways: liver, kidneys, lymph/skin, intestines.
In all the processes, nutrients are needed, but free radicals are also formed. Detoxifying a lot at once creates a lot of oxidation, which can slow down detoxification.
SUPPORT DETOX PATHWAYS WITH NUTRITION
A good way to help the body detox is to keep inflammation down. It can be individual what causes inflammation in a person. General tips:
- easily absorbable substances in food means that they can be taken up and can benefit the body.
- without an intact intestinal lining it is difficult to detox. Waste products can leak back into the bloodstream.
- broth , collagen and organ meat support the work of the intestine and liver. Building blocks for glutathione, an important detoxifying substance, are found in broth.
- most people do well by adding extra minerals. Minerals are co-factors in enzymes – Minerals and Enzymes.
- special phytonutrients quench free radicals and can reduce inflammation.
- B vitamins are spark plugs for the energy engine in our cells. Organ meat has all the B vitamins in bioavailable form. Maybe you also need to take extra B vitamins to kick start the detox processes.
BINDERS
A binder can trap toxins stirred up during a detox, so they are not reabsorbed. They are then excreted naturally. Most binders work in the stomach and intestines, but there are also systemic binders, they work throughout the body.
Binders can be soluble fibers, silicon or sulfur compounds, activated carbon, zeolites, substances in freshwater and saltwater algae.
SAUNA
Taking a sauna increases circulation and detoxification via the skin.
- Amino acids, collagen or broth and
- water with electrolytes or mineral drops
before and after the sauna makes it easier. Replenish magnesium and minerals before bed.
PROBIOTICS
After or during a detox, it can be good to add beneficial bacterial strains. Make your own sauerkraut! Or buy ready-made, unpasteurized. You can also take a dietary supplement . Be sure to vary the varieties you take.
CHILL, LAUGH AND TAKE IT EASY
Activate the body's parasympathetic system, your calm and quiet mode. Not everyone likes to meditate.
Singing, listening to beautiful music, dancing, sitting in nature and listening to the birds, taking a foot bath, walking barefoot outdoors, doing breathing exercises, painting or crafting, sharing a massage or consensual touch increases feel-good hormones and reduces stress.
